St. Paddy's Day Celebrations

Hope everyone had a great weekend!! We McClellan's embraced our Irish heritage this weekend and celebrated St. Patrick's Day early with the rest of Kwaj!

The Vet's Hall on island throws a big St. Paddy's Day party every year, and since the actual holiday falls on a weekday this year, they decided to celebrate this weekend instead!

Our friends Fred and Jenny hosted a happy hour at their house before the party, and had the yummiest roast beef sandwiches, and appetizers ever! Also, Jenny wins for most festive St. Paddy's Day hat ever! See below...

Me, Amy, Angela, and Jenny and her rockin' hat!

After the happy hour, we all biked down to the Vet's Hall for some corned beef, green beer, and to hear Radar Love play! Amy and Angela's husbands play in the band, so we always love to come out and show some Radar Love, love!

Angela's husband Jon is on the left, and Amy's husband Greg is on the right!

Fun side story here, Johnathon is a big fan of the band Offspring, and has been demanding asking Greg for years to add an Offspring song into the lineup! We ran into Greg the morning of the party, and Johnathon once again casually mentioned that Offspring should really make it into the set, and I may or may not have chimed in with a general request for some sweet 90's jams! Apparently, two and a half years of asking finally wore Greg down, and he went home and power learned Gone Away by Offspring, and worked it into one of their sets that was completely dedicated to 90's tunes! WE WERE SO PUMPED!!! There was not only Offspring, but Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, and my personal favorite, Santa Monica, by the classic greatest band Everclear. The only way it could've been better was if there was some Ace of Base. It was such a fun surprise and I felt like all I needed was a Walkman, plaid shirt, and Doc Martens to make the night complete! It was awesome! Well done guys!

Besides the great music, there was lots of dancing, and Johnathon and I even sneaked in a couple of games of darts just to seal the deal on a fun evening! I didn't bring my camera, but Amy snapped some photos of me and the ladies enjoying the St. Paddy's Day festivities!

Angela and I had a lot of fun with the green mustaches that were available...

Sadly mine started to shed into my drink so I had to take it off...

It was such a fun night, and it's always good to get out of the house and hit the town with friends!! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
