Since it's Friday I'm linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for our Friday Favorites!
ONE
So I just finished reading a super dark, depressing book and I was in need of a little fun and fluff on my bookshelf. I will tell you that hands down, Emily Maynard was and is my favorite Bachelorette of all time. I watched her on Brad's season and when she was the Bachelorette, and I loved everything about her. When I saw she had a book out, I bought it but didn't have high hopes. I hoped it would have a lot of Bachelor inside scoop, but I didn't think it would be much more than that. I was really surprised though, by how open and honest she was in the book. She shared a lot more about her personal life than I thought she would, and was really open about the tragic things she went through, and her relationships with her family and the family of her fiance who passed away tragically. Don't get me wrong there is LOTS of Bachelor/Bachelorette gossip, but I was pleasantly surprised that she was willing to share so much of herself good and bad. I highly recommend the book!

View of Emon Beach from my lounge chair (sorry the pic is so blurry...I only had my ipad with me!) |
Johnathon works on another island in the Kwajalein atoll, and he flies up for work every morning, then flies back in the evening. He had to stay late one day this week, and there were no more flights home, so Hadley and I had a girls night. The good news was that he was able to take the next day off, and this mama got to sneak off to the beach, while Johnathon kicked it with Hadley at the house. Solo beach days are few and far between now, and it felt so good to be able to relax and read, and take in the gorgeous view with no distractions!
THREE
Last week Fuller House, this week House of Cards! So many great Netflix shows, so little time! Johnathon and I are finishing up Chuck, and are in need of a new show to binge watch, and House of Cards never disappoints. We have been watching this series from the beginning, and this season looks like it's going to be even crazier than ever!!

Do you ever come across an article of clothing that you know you have nowhere to wear it to, but you still feel like you need it in your life?! That is what this dress is for me. I came across this dress on Nordstroms website, and immediately wanted it to be mine. I literally have strong, relationship type feelings for this dress. The problem is that I live on a very laid back island where we all ride bicycles to get around, plus I'm a stay at home mom, so unless I wear this beauty to the grocery store (I'm seriously considering it), I have nowhere to really wear it. It is my sincere wish that somebody back stateside buys this dress and wears it proud for me, and gets lots of compliments about how fabulous they look!
FIVE
Okay, so I've previously spoken about my obsession with Zillow and finding pretend dream houses, yes? Well, I was doing my usual search of houses in the area of Texas that we used to live (DFW), and I came across this awesome house and fell in love with the guest bathroom! Who falls in love with a guest bathroom?! Usually they are just kind of...there. But I thought the watercolor wallpaper was so fun, and gave the bathroom some personality. I guess I've always been a little leery of wallpaper because I immediately have flashbacks to the 90's floral wallpaper we had in our bathroom growing up, but those flowers spoke to me and now I'm hooked. I started browsing Pinterest and blog sites, and started coming across all these fun wallpapered bathrooms...
This is the guest bathroom of one of my favorite bloggers, Fancy Ashley! |
I tried this idea out on Johnathon, and he was not on board, per se. But he said if this was something I wanted to try out in a powder room/guest bath type situation he would get behind my vision!! Then to get me even more excited, I discovered that my Mecca, Anthropologie, has a wall paper section!!! I was all kinds of giddy!! So, am I crazy or this a good idea?! Watercolor/floral wall paper...yay or nay?! Speak now, or lie to my face when I ask you if you like my future powder room, k?!
I'm excited to hear that you liked Emily's book, I wasn't sure if I wanted to read it but now I guess I do! :)
