Happy Friday everyone! I hope some of you are enjoying a four day week this week, and that y'all have some lovely Easter plans in the works! As always, I am linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea for some Friday Favorites!
ONE
I really had no intention of taking Hadley to meet the Easter bunny. If we're being honest...I tend to find the bunny costumes kind of creepy. However my friend Trina mentioned that the Easter bunny would be making an appearance at the shopette in town, so we headed down to meet the big guy! Hadley enjoyed meeting Santa, so I thought she would do okay with the bunny meet and greet. I'm happy to report that Hadley did way better than okay! The second she saw the bunny, she tried to wiggle out of my arms and get her bunny snuggle on. She climbed up on the bunny's lap, as started posing and hamming it up for anyone and everyone. And then to top it all off, she turned around and planted one sloppy and over zealous kiss right on the bunny's mouth! It was love at first sight!
We loved us some Easter bunny!
TWO
Speaking of Hadley, I ordered her some new Matilda Jane goodies, and they finally came in the mail this week! I sized up so that she could hopefully get more wear out of them, but I'm already itching to put her in them now! I'm already envisioning Hadley wearing the purple dress with a cardigan, tights, and moccasins this Fall! Eeekkkk the cuteness!
THREE
I made this Paleo Slow Cooker Jalapeno Popper Chicken Chili this week, and in addition to being a mouthful to say, it was also delicious! I'm always on a quest for healthy crock pot meals that are filling and satisfying, and this one fits the bill! Even Johnathon liked this one, so you know it's a crowd pleaser!
FOUR
My friend and bible study leader, Cher, shared a Jen Hatmaker video at our study this week that was from her Interrupted bible study, and I was immediately drawn to the message of her novel. It focuses on Western Christianity, and our tendency and desire to seek what she calls "comfortable Christianity." She goes on to talk about how many Christians, especially those living in prosperous, first world countries, often focus on what God is doing in their own lives, but don't look outward to how they can and should be seeking ways to serve the lowest of their brothers and sisters. I'm not going to lie, the book definitely calls out a lot of uncomfortable traits I see in myself, and in a lot of the churches I have attended over the years, but I'm finding it so eye opening and its encouraging me to push the boundaries of my faith, and what my goals as a Christian should be.
FIVE
When Johnathon went to Honolulu last week, I sent him with a hefty shopping list for myself. At the top of the list was "everyday tops/t-shirts," and besides giving him my size, I pretty much let him go it alone from there. Ladies, it takes a certain level of trust to let your husband shop for you without any specific items listed, but Johnathon really knows my style and what I do and don't like, so I was really excited when he came home with this Anthropologie shirt. It's so soft and comfy, and definitely meets the criteria of "everyday wear." I really need clothes that I can run around and chase Hadley in, but still feel like I'm making an effort to look put together when I wear them! Know what I mean? This shirt is definitely that, and is the perfect length to do a half tuck on! I forgot to snap a picture of it on, but I really love it, and was really impressed at my husbands shopping skills!
That's it for me this week! I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter holiday! For now I will leave you will a little view of our island beach where we have been logging a lot of time lately...
That is quite possibly the cutest Easter Bunny pic I have ever seen with her looking up at him. I tend to also find him creepy but this is cute. My girls would probably scream if I tried this haha! I love those Matilda Jane dresses....ugh I love their stuff. My wallet not so much.
