We are wrapping up Jeff's Week o' Fun here on Kwaj! We have had so much fun having Jeff come and stay with us and I think he had a great time too! Here is the recap of what we've all been up to this week!
Tuesday morning Jeff and Johnathon flew up to Roi so that Jeff could see where Johnathon works, and take the historical tour of Roi. They spent the early morning touring the island and checking out all the neat historical markers that are scattered all over the island.

After touring the World War II sites, they toured Johnathon's work:
Hard hats are a must when visiting Tradex :) |
Then Jeff tried chasing the chickens that live outside Tradex |
And they finished off the day, by taking in all the natural beauty of Roi...

Personally...this is my favorite palm tree! |

I stayed home while the boys were on Roi, but I was in good company...
Wednesday the boys went fishing again and caught more Mahi and an Aku tuna. They also finished their day of fishing by jumping off a concrete shipwreck that sunk off one of the other islands in the atoll! It looked like so much fun! Johnathon wore his GoPro when he jumped off, so I have a pretty cool video of the guys jumping below:
While the guys were out fishing, and risking life and limb by jumping off a shipwreck, Hadley and I were having our own brand of fun by playing with Aksel and Maya in Maya's water table!

After a full day of fishing poor, exhausted Johnathon had his first inner tube water polo match. He had never played before and he LITERALLY jumped right in! Inner tub water polo is, in my opinion, hands down the most fun of all the Kwaj sports to watch! The hats...people falling out of tubes, the splashing, the hats....IT'S SO SO GOOD. Johnathon is a super athletic guy who is good at most sports, but I'm gonna go ahead and say (and Johnathon would agree) that inner tube water polo may not be the sport where he "shines." However, it was his first game, and I think I convinced him to keep playing, if nothing else, so that Hadley and I can have a source of boundless entertainment one night a week!

And while Johnathon was playing Hadley and I passed the time by trying on the spare polo hats and chasing runaway Cheerios...
Today was Jeff's last full day on Kwaj, and we decided that after all the adventures, Jeff definitely earned himself a chill day! We lounged around the house then biked down to Coral Sands beach for a little family/friend beach day.
We all took a swing on the rope swing...
And did some lounging...
And Miss Hadley Kate decided that she had NO FEAR of the waves, and that going in head first, at full speed was the best way to approach the ocean...
It has been such a great week, and we are so glad that Jeff made the trek out here, and we will be thinking of him on his journey back home!
OH my goodness! What a busy and fun-filled day for all! Even though Kwaj and Roi are small, they are beautiful. And the water--magnificent! So clean and clear! Love the pics of the men jumping off the concrete bunker, and Hadley going boldly into the sea!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I agree, encourage Johnathon to play inner tube water polo! I'll bet Hadley loved it too!
That curvy palm tree is awesome! Love it. And Inner Tube Water Polo? How fun!!
