Friday Favorites: Makeup Edition

I don't know about y'all, but this week took it out of me. I'm exhausted. The update on Hadley's ear is that we still aren't sure what's wrong with it. The doctor gave us some drops to put in her ear that will help get rid of the swelling in the canal. Hopefully they can visualize her ear drum sometime next week after the drops have done their job and give us an official diagnosis. Also, putting ear drops in a fourteen month old's ears four times a day is no picnic. In case you were wondering. At least Hadley doesn't seem to be in pain, and apart from hating the ear drops she's her usual, happy self!

So that's what's been going on in our world this week. I am ready for the weekend so we can all recover! To get us started on the weekend, I am linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for some Friday Favorites: Makeup Edition!

ONE

I will start with my all time favorite eye shadow palette! I bought my Naked 2 palette at Sephora two years ago, and I'm honestly not sure what I did before this. You get so much bang for your buck with these shadow palettes, and you can create so many different looks with the shades that I rarely use any of my other shadows anymore. The shadows also have great staying power, and I never feel like they rub off or get creasy. I use the Naked 2 palette because I have brown eyes and it has the colors that I use most often, but there are several different shadow palettes to choose from that work best for your coloring! If you look at the reviews on the Sephora website, you can tell I'm not the only one who thinks these shadow palettes are the greatest things ever!

TWO

I am picky about my mascara. I will be the first to admit that. Putting on my mascara takes me the longest out of any other part of my makeup routine. I want my lashes to be full AND long, not one or the other. I have tried so many expensive, name brand mascara's as well as other drug store brands, and L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara wins hands down! The best part...it's under eight dollars!

THREE

I have had my makeup done several times at several different makeup counters, and every time they would always put really pink, pale blush on me, and I hated it. My pale skin needs some color!! I dreamed of a blush that had a bronzing effect in it, and that's when I came across Nars Orgasm Blush. Yes, the blush is called orgasm, and I still get a little awkward when I have to ask the gay guys at Sephora where to find it. Let me tell you...its' worth the awkwardness because this is a magical blush. When I first saw it in the case my first thought was...WHOA, THAT IS SOME PEACHY/ORANGE BLUSH!!! I thought there was no way it would look good on my skin color, but the crazy thing is that it looks good on all different skin tones. I have seen pale skin, olive skin, and darker skin people wear this blush and they all look amazing in it! It really does add a great glow and pop of color to your cheeks, and that is why it gets my vote for best blush ever!

FOUR
Another drugstore favorite that has been around forever is Smith's Rosebud Salve. This oldie but goodie has been healing chapped lips while providing a glossy shine for quite awhile now, and there is a reason it is still sold everywhere! I love wearing this as an everyday gloss when I don't want a lot of lip color, but am just going for a hint of pink and shine. Their packaging says it can be used to heal dry skin and diaper rash...I haven't ever used it on Hadley, but it works wonders on dry elbows in the winter! You can find it in almost any drug store, and I see it a lot by checkout counters at boutique type clothing stores!

FIVE

I'm a big fan of Keihl's products, and had been using their face wash for awhile. I got this Midnight Recovery Concentrate as a sampler when I bought my face wash, and went back and immediately bought more! I have a hard time with anti-aging stuff because a lot of them have so much moisture in them that they make me break out! This recovery serum managed to not make me break out, and made my skin look noticeably smoother, brighter, and softer by morning. It's really reasonably priced, and a little goes a LONG way. It is an oil that comes out in a dropper, and just a couple of drops will cover your face and neck, so the full bottle will last you a long time! This is another product that has lots of good reviews, and I can't swear by it enough!

That's it for my Friday Favorites: Makeup Edition. I can't wait to hear if y'all love any of these products too, and what your favorites are! Hope y'all have a great weekend!
